Website terms

These cover using this website. They are short because they only have one job, and because the terms that matter for actual work belong in an agreement both sides sign.

What these cover

By using drivingseat.ai you accept what follows. It applies to reading the pages, using the value-leak map, and sending us an enquiry.

It does not cover an engagement. If we build something for you, that work is governed by a separate written agreement signed by both sides — scope, fee, ownership, confidentiality and liability all live there. Where that agreement and this page disagree, the signed agreement wins.

The map and the read are free

The map, the read behind any leak, and the weeks a slice would take cost nothing. There is no gate, no payment step and no obligation on either side. Sending the form does not commit you to anything, and it does not commit us to taking the work.

The first thing you pay for, if we ever get there, is a prototype slice at a fixed fee agreed in writing before it starts.

What a read is, and is not

A read is a general model of how a common operating leak behaves, written from experience and stated in the open. It is worth reading. It is not any of the following:

  • An audit or a diagnosis of your business. We have not seen your numbers.
  • Financial, legal, tax, accounting or investment advice, and nothing here should be relied on as any of those.
  • A projection. Where a directional range appears it is labeled as a range and as its source; we deliberately do not print a dollar figure for what a leak is costing you, because we would have to invent it.

Decisions about your company are yours. Take advice from people who owe you a duty of care before you act on anything you read here.

Acceptable use

Read the site, quote it, send it to a colleague. Do not:

  • Attack it — probing for weaknesses, overwhelming it with traffic, or trying to reach anything not meant to be public.
  • Harvest it at scale, whether by scraper or by hand, to rebuild the map somewhere else.
  • Submit somebody else’s details, or claim to be someone you are not.
  • Use it to do anything unlawful, or to send us anything harmful.

We may block access if any of that happens. Answer engines and search crawlers are welcome — what we allow is written out in our robots file, and there is a plain-language summary of the whole site at /llms.txt precisely so a machine does not have to guess.

What you send us

When you send an enquiry you confirm the work email is yours to give and that you are acting for the business it belongs to.

We use it to reply, to prepare your read, and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not sell it and we do not share it for advertising. What we hold, how it is used, and how to have it deleted are all set out on the privacy page.

What is ours

The writing, the reads, the map and the design of this site belong to Drivingseat LLC, as do the Drivingseat name and mark.

Quote us, cite us, screenshot a read and send it to your operating partner — that is what it is for, and attribution is all we ask. What is not fine is republishing it wholesale, or presenting it as somebody else’s work.

What is deliberately not here

Most website terms carry more clauses than this one. Ours leaves these out on purpose:

  • Limitation of liability and warranty disclaimers.
  • Indemnity.
  • Who owns what we build for you, and on what license.
  • Governing law and how a dispute gets resolved.

Each of those allocates risk between us, which is an attorney’s work rather than a form to fill in. They are being drafted, and they will live in the agreement that governs an engagement.

Nothing in this section takes away any right you have under the law where you live.

Changes, and reaching us

When these change we change the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means the new version applies.
