Privacy

• We ask for two things: your name and a work email. Everything else is optional.
• After you send it, we look up the company behind your email’s domain by reading that company’s own public homepage. The full sequence is set out below.
• We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and there are no advertising or social trackers on this site.
• Analytics here is cookieless. That is why you were not shown a cookie banner — there was nothing to consent to.
• Ask us to delete your record and we will, and we will tell you when it is done.

Three moments, and no others. We have no account system, so there is nothing to sign up for and no password to store.

When you start with a map. Your name, your work email, which leak you pointed at, any slices you stacked, and anything you typed in the note field. Personal email addresses are rejected at the form — this is a business enquiry, and we would rather not hold a personal address at all.

When you subscribe to the newsletter. Your email address, and your name and company if you give them. Subscribing is double opt-in: nothing is sent until you click the link in a confirmation email, so somebody typing your address in cannot subscribe you.

When you simply read a page. Ordinary web-server information — the page requested, rough location, browser type — used to serve the page, keep it up, and count visits in aggregate. It is not tied to you as an individual.

The moment your enquiry is saved, a background job runs. You did not explicitly ask for it, so here is exactly what it does:

• We take the domain from your work email — the part after the @, never the address itself.
• We fetch that company’s own public homepage. The crawler is restricted to a company’s own website by code; it cannot and does not read social profiles, and it never looks for anything about you personally.
• We ask a language model to read that public page into a short factual summary — the company name, one line on what it does, and a handful of things the page itself states.
• That summary is saved against your enquiry so the person replying knows who they are writing to.

Why do it at all? Because the alternative is a longer form. We would rather read a public website than ask you to type in your company, your role and your industry before you get anything back.

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The analytics we use is cookieless: it counts page views in aggregate and does not follow you between sites, so there is no consent to collect and no banner to dismiss.

Two small things do get stored in your own browser, and neither leaves it. A flag remembering that you have already seen the opening animation, so it does not replay all session. And, if you sign in to our internal cockpit, a session cookie — which only applies to us, not to you.

Web fonts are served from this site, not from a font network, so loading a page here does not tell a third party you were reading it.

We use a small number of service providers, each doing one job: hosting, database and file storage, email delivery, scheduling, background job processing, and the language model described above. They act on our instructions, and only to run this site and reply to you.

Our hosting and database providers hold SOC 2 Type II certification. Drivingseat LLC is not itself SOC 2 certified — we have not been through an audit, so that certification belongs to those providers and not to us.

If you are running a security review and need the providers named, write to us and we will answer you directly.

Beyond those, we share your information with nobody. Not with data brokers, not with advertising networks, not with partners. We would also disclose it if the law required us to; that has not happened.

An enquiry becomes a business contact record, and we keep it until you ask us to delete it or until it is plainly no longer useful.

Whatever your jurisdiction, you can ask us for any of the following, and we will do it within 30 days:

• A copy of everything we hold about you.
• A correction, if something is wrong — including anything the company lookup got wrong.
• Deletion. We remove the record and confirm when it is done.
• To stop hearing from us. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, and it works without a reply from us.

Drivingseat LLC is a Texas company and the systems above run in the United States. If you are writing from outside the United States, your information is processed there.

This site is for people doing their jobs. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.

When this page changes we change the date at the top. If a change materially affects what happens to information we already hold, we will say so here rather than quietly amend it.
